Glendale or Wilmore ice free and crappies hitting?

Is the ice off Wilmore and Glendale yet?  Are the crappies hitting yet?

Might take a trip up that way the first or second weekend in April and try and head out for some crappie.

ice is off glendale, slate lick is hot, last saturday, buddies did best so far for numbers, they fished near 3 amish guys who landed 70+ with a number of 10 to 12 inches and an 18incher. fished the same spot sunday(the next day), between 2 of us caught almost thirty, and a chained pickeral, and 1 perch 12 inches, everything caught on single hook with minnie, except the perch took a blaze orange northland forage minnow tipped with minnie, all under a shotgun bobber. will fish this weekend again and post...

Don't have a boat but always looking for new places to fish, can I fish these areas from the bank?  I have looked at the map and drove by it a couple years ago and it appears to have a couple places but the places most people talk about seem like a long walk from a road.  Not looking for a certain spot, enjoy the hunt for them but don't want to spend a whole day if can not get them from the banks.

the crappies at glendale have been shallow, slate lick, boat docks at beaver valley, and campground cove are all accessible from shore. slate lick is the only place that requires a long walk. this cold weather blast may slow that bite down though...
