Presquile bait shop

Is the bait shop by the campground right b/4 you enter the park still open?

Any reports on how the panfish are hitting and what area? How much snow is on the ice? I'm thinking of bringing my to young sons up this weekend. Thanks

    Hansens isn't there anymore.

We tried 11 to 14 feet of water a little east of the stink hole for perch yesterday morning, got a few decent ones right away and then nothing.  Moved to the first lot and got some decent gills right away, then decided to go play at the nut for steelhead.   Last  week off the first lot, once the gills moved in underneath us, it was fast action.  I think it was about to happen that way yesterday but we changed plans. It seems like it takes them a short while to settle down after drilling holes up there.   We were in about 10feet of water with weeds growing up to about 5 feet.

My next time out if the wind is howling to where it's a pain to move, I'm just setting up for gills first thing and having fun.   No wind I'm going perching (lol, yeah I know, sounds like I'm going bluegill fishing).

Thanks Stillhead. Were'd you guys get your bait?

Would you mind PM'ing me with some sort of location off the first lot? I just want my kids to catch fish and be occupied.

    Thanks

Forgot, the snow is blown around and drifted.  The further from shore you get, the less there is, but still some drifts out there.  The shoreline along the peninsula is drifted pretty deep in places, and there was some slushy spots along shore.  Waterproof boots are highly recommended.

The BAC is still at the top of the hill before you head down to the peninsula.

I think you are from Beaver county if I remember?    Will's on Route 68 has 250 count waxworms for $9.50.
