Need help getting Frabill back due to head trauma

My buddy Ed was fishing on Friday I believe off Chestnut St and fell on the ice striking his head on the ice. He left his new Frabill ice shanty on the ice. He made it on his own, back to his car & tried to drive but hit someones car in the parking lot, at that point he was not responsive. The police were called. Was taken to the hospital,  he was on life support with an induced coma to shrink swelling of the brain. He is now at Health South for rehab but still really confused.

His wife called me today and asked if we could help to get his Frabill back that she just got him for Christmas this year. She said he left it somewhere off Chestnut. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pm me if you know where it is please.

I was in that area late Saturday afternoon and did not see anything, I really hope that someone got his equipment off the bay on Friday because at times on Saturday through Sunday the wind was 30 mph plus.

They did find an ice auger at the Public Dock. Pm me if you can identify it & it's yours.

    Kirk,

I was the first angler off of Chestnut Street on Saturday Morning.  There were no huts on the ice from the city side that I could see.

Good Luck to your friend.  I hope he makes a full recovery.w_w.

If it has fins and gills, I'm there.

My friend Ed has made full recovery & is back out fishing. Thank you for all our prayers. His ice hut is still MIA. His wif won't let him go without ice cleats, not bad advise.

Excellent news. Was just wondering the other day how things were progressing. Not that it matters, but I had a funny feeling, back in one of the original threads, why there were a couple single post new "members" who seemed extremely interested if any thing was captured on cameras, then they just disappeared. What a shame. Well congrats at being back at it and God bless.

I have been reading these posts on this terrible trauma, thank God he has made a full recovery! Nice to hear he is back out fishing. But give me a break that people would be that ignorant and take a ice hut that was abandoned, you would think they would post a add on here or the newspaper stating they found a hut. Some people just do not care about other people or their property. I personally glad to see your friend has made a full recovery and the guy upstairs works in mysterious ways, the people who may have taken it will get their pay back and / or something good will happen to your friend like winning or someone giving him a hut.
alaskan -God bless to your friend and glad on his recovery.
