TCO Carlisle Closed

Dudes- I just got word the TCO shop in Carlisle has closed. This is a big blow to me because it's like a mile from my house & they had pretty much everything you'd want.
They only opened last March. Word on the street is TCO is low on funds.

The sad part in this closing is how it happened. I heard there was no warning to any of the employees there.
The owner of TCO called the shop manager & told him to lock the store- they were done. So the whole crew pretty much got screwed.

I didn't hear this from any of the guys there, or anyone inside TCO but rest assured it's a reliable source or I wouldn't post it.

My prayers are going out to these nice fellas who lost a job like this & I hope they find work quickly. They are fine fellows & fishermen.

Needless to say I won't be supporting TCO any longer if this is the way they treat their employees. They could have at least given notice.

Too bad for the guys that worked there. Anyone who has lost a job in that way, know it blows. I lost 2 jobs that way in the past several years.

I am not a TCO fan. When they moved to this area with the spruce creek store, and the state college store, they were very vocal that they would put Spruce Creek Outfitters, and Flyfishers Paradise out of business. It didnt happen, as the TCO spruce creek closed last year. I understand the shop closed in the same way. Actually, the rumor in the area is that Donny Beaver walked into the shop and told them they were closing. Not sure if it's true....

When you combine their cocky attitude, with the fact their employees knew very little about our fisheries compared to the locally owned shops, on top of that there's the all that high end merchandise they have trouble selling which is a liability (not an asset).... you've got a recipe for a closed shop.

That shop in carlisle was open for quite a while before TCO got their hands on it, and it seemed to do well.

Is the State College store still open?

Not that I would go there, just curious.

Are you serious about Beaver or was that a joke?
    Is he affiliated with TCO?
