They started making the 1300 in 1981. There are several variations of the 1300 and price would depend on condition and type. Go to" Guns America "on the net and you may be able to get an idea of value. They aren't  a rare or extremely valuable gun.

Don't get me wrong, I'am not putting the gun down, It's just they are fairly commom. Your probably looking at $400 plus for the turkey gun in good condition with some extras.

That's probably about right when buying from an auction house. Again it depends on the extras--camo, sling, tru glo sights, scope, condition, year, etc. Here is the history.

I was given a 1300XTR for my birthday in 85.
It is probably the best looking pump I ever had (cherry finish) and it does recycle very fast.
I purchased a 26" VR Winchoke barrel for it a few years later to upgrade from the 28" plain barrel.
Dad still hunts with this gun but I usually take an O/U or Auto

Benelli might be the only faster pump

I think you're right pghmarty. The benelli is probably the only faster pump. I have both, and it seems my benelli edges out the 1300 a little.

I bought a 1300 XTR when they first came out, beautiful wood and extremely sharp checkering, got a blister from it dove hunting one time. Not my favorite gun though, always seemed "clunky" and not extremely well built. Still have it but haven't used it for a number of years. I bought an Ithaca Model 37 Ultra Feather Weight 20 gauge that is probably the most awesome grouse gun you could find, I don't think it weighs 6 pounds and cycles as fast as any pump gun I've ever used.

I upgraded to a Beretta O/U several years ago, that's about all I use anymore.
