Where are you located? I am from Pittsburgh and could possibly be making a trip that way. I am not familar with fishing Erie in Ohio waters. In PA, I know most of the guys troll for walleye. I will do that, but would rather catch them other ways. Family could psobbily be planning a weekend trip to Put in Bay. Is the fishing good near there late in the summer or is it only good in the spring?

    Thanks

That water is getting pretty warm now.  I would imagine most of the western basin fish are moving east in a hurry to escape that warm water.  Heard really good things from Vermillion east to Cleveland.

Off Beaver Park in Lorain, 30-35 feet.  Drifting and slow retrieve casting.  Colors used were orange/white, chartreuse/white, black, purple, Erie Dearies and Toms double spins, not really big on spoons, grew up with these and they haven't let me down yet.
Waves were bad Saturday and decided not to go out.  Watched as some more adventurous boaters tried; and watched them come right back in soaked after getting a pounding about 300-400 yards out of the mouth of the creek.  Will have to wait until Thursday maybe Friday to try again since work requires that I show up once in a while.....
