? Flasher units ?

I'm seriously considering getting my first flasher for ice fishing and was wondering if it's something i really need or not? Do you guys that fish Presque Isle rely on them? Would apreciate any insight.

Got a Vexilar FL8 this year, have an Eagle flasher also. Can't stand to be without one.Don't know how we fished all these years without one.Seeing fish and trying to catch them is pretty neat.

A flasher changes your whole outlook on icefishing.w_w.

If it has fins and gills, I'm there.

If you dont like addictions, dont get a vex. Those things are so addicting, you wont remember how you caught fish before you had one. Most of us that have one, wont go fishing without it. Anybody got a transducer for an Fl-8 for sale?

Don't get the Marcum, they aren't as easy to read as the Vexilar.  I got one last year at Cabela's in Wheeling for a song and just started using it this winter.  Since they use red, orange and yellow it is very difficult to read the signal, the red and orange just blend together.  I am actually thinking about pawnning this one off for a Vexilar.  Don't get me wrong, they show you what is down there but it's very hard to read.

is it worth getting a flasher if you already have a camera?  i used a camera this winter and was amazed at what was going on down there.

dont know much about flashers, but wouldnt the camera be better beacuse you can see what is ACTUALLY going on.
