Susky River near Sunbury
Couldn't wait till I got back to Erie to fish so on my days off(Tue,Wed) I gave the river a shot. I had heard they were doing good on big walleyes. Boy was I pleasantly surprised!! I fished Tues from 11 a.m. till about 3:15. I landed 21 walleye. I kept my limit. The smallest walleye on my stringer was 19 inches, the 2 biggest were 25 and 26 inches. I also landed a 37 and half inch Musky(lost 2, one swallowed a 7 inch Husky jerk and broke off) and landed a 39 inch carp on 4lb ultra light tackle! Today I fished from 1 till 4 p.m. I caught 13 walleye biggest 2 were 21 and 20 inches. One 19 inch smallmouth and I also landed one 27 inch Musky(lost 2 more). Saw very few boats out and I was the only one fishing from shore. I guess that river does have some big fish in it other than carp! Off to Erie for some Steelhead trout and hopefully a monster buck!!!! Good luck to all those who venture in the woods or on the water.
