Last day buck!

Hey guys, been away for a while but had to post this pic if i can because i havent been out all season long until 2 weeks ago...  My first day out I shot and hit an 8 ptr. but when i shot the deer it got spooked and jumped the string right when i shot so it went from a heart shot to back leg thanks to a guy on the hill driving his tractor down into the woods to dump his leaves..  he started his tractor back up right when i squeezed off my release...  i had a pass thru and it bled like a pig but couldnt find it so i figured it made it...  3 days later my neighbor said he seen it so i went back out and ended up shooting it the last day of archery...  someone want to send me an address and i will send them the pics to post on here...  Thanks!

congrat's and good job.  Did you find the old wound to let you know it was the deer you shot at before?

Deer can be tough, my friend had the same thing happen a couple years ago, shot high and hit the deer but passed through non-vital area.  Three weeks later shot the same deer and got it.  When they skinned it you could see the old wounds healing over already.  Made him feel good the "first one" didn't go to waste like he had feared.

Yes, you could clearly see the pass thru on his back leg...  it never hit any main artery so it was like it just had a cut on him...

Thanks guys!  Didn"t have much time for archery this year due to my 2 boys...  They are into hockey, so that is very time consuming with all the practices, games and traveling...  Its their first year and they love it so as long as they are happy, Im happy...  So, Im very pleased with my 8 pt...

Is that the Somerset County buck elluded to earlier?

If so, it was shot by a freind of my brother-in-law (I know, I know, but that is really true).

He told me about it before it was published anywhere and said that it was this big -- holding his hands way apart.  Since he tends to be full of it, I didn't really believe him until the photos came out.

Everything with the deer was on the up and up.

I think it is another one of those internet hoax's. My boy showed it to me 3 weeks ago and it was killed near Spartensburg Pa.  I sent it to my nephew near Pitts. and he said he saw the same picture a month before and it was killed in Ohio just across the line from Wheeling WV. Critter sure gets around.

I saw this picture 3 different times since the beginning of archery......1 time it said OH, 1 time  it said lawrence county, and one time it said   last year.

Better too far back, than too far forward.

I know it first showed up in early October. At least that is the earliest I am aware of it being around.

You know that herd migrates around that time each year from wheeling to spartansburg.  Maybe that explains it.
