I gotta say, even with that "Simms Fishing Page" link, I'm pretty suspicious of the white line along the top of that fish.  Why would that occur naturally?

I think you gentlemen will appreciate this video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpNT1aHFn4E  Now, after you cool down from watching it, apply what you just learned to this fish picture, and I think you'll share my suspicions.

IMO if you look at the background through the fishes open mouth... it doesn't look right. It looks like it was pasted on a slightly blurry background. Not very convincing after you really look at it. First glance yeah... till you look closer. Then the entire guy and fish look out of place. They don't mesh with the environment.

that "white line" is a reflection of the sun/flash
look at the shadows to see the light source...
here are some pictures with a "white line"
also... can you tell which of the last 3 pics is a bigger fish?
the angle has eveything to do with the appearance of size...
google "Matt Supinski" and look at his steelie shots... the guy is a master at forced perspective

Lol.

Well, I researched it.

This picture is photoshopped

i'll ignore you attempts on personal attacks...

where's the research???

Good!

It just seems like people on this board fish walnut creek one time and they are suddenly an expert on steelhead. Steelhead DO get bigger than the PA mutt fish that people can catch 30-40 of on any given weekend. 30+ lb steelhead in the Skeena River system have never been uncommon and are taken yearly. These are Real, Wild steelhead that migrate to the salt and return the the river to spawn (if they get past nets at the mouth of the river). I just dont understand why instead of saying "wow, Id love to get a chance at a fish like that", people of this board are the first to say "Fake". Why? Because it wasnt you who caught it? Selfish to say the least....

18, Again. I'm sorry man but I was asked my opinion on the picture.

I never said I was mad I didn't catch it. I wasn't being selfish in the least bit. My original post was directed at the original picture. All these new photo's, sure it's real. I believe it now. But don't talk down to me like I'm an idiot of some sort. All I did was voice my opinion on the picture, like was requested by SUAF.

And I catch NOWHERE near 30-40 fish a weekend.

Why not?

Maybe too many people are looking for the bad on these boards, rather than just reading posts. I've been guilty of this myself on some occasions.

Maybe some people remember when this board was full of knowledgeable people always full of good information instead of what it has become now.

Well, that is a 100% perfect answer to my question!  I withdraw my observation about the white line.  But by boob enlargement video still stands.

Oh!  And I forgot to share my big catch picture with ya!

Peace.

Those ones of the carp are definitely fake.  No one actually holds carp in their hands for pictures...

Way to much weight on arm for a fish that size! Also the fish isn*t even resting on his leg!   If the fish was being held center over his body it would be believable>> Just my thoughts...

What's the deal with his middle and smallest fingers?  The knuckle and top part of the finger seems seriously disjointed.

That fish in the original pic is definitely not photoshopped. It was caught at the wall at da nut, on green powerbait tipped with a piece of a hot dog. It is believed to be nearly twenty five years old, and the common ancestor of all of Erie's transplant steelhead. Old no.1, himself. The bearded guy used to clean fish for Poor Richards, that's why his fingers are screwed up. For a limited time you can exchange your fish for a section of the big one. I recommend the Cajun.

I belive it to be real, no doubt that is a fish of a lifetime and we might never get to see a steelhead that big in our own hands, but the camera did some justice for it as well. it is angled just right, that the fish seems bigger. his hand on the tail also leads us to belive it is huge. the tail is bigger than his hand. but all in all i belive its a ligit pic.

For the supreme test of a fisherman is not how many fish he has caught, not even how he has caught them, but what he has caught when he has caught no fish."
