When to quit?

I was wondering when do you guys feel that it is time to stop fishing for the wild browns, to let them spawn?  When I say spawn I mean from the first eggs being fertilized to the time when the little fishies hatch.

I have my own thoughts but, I was curious as to how everyone else feels on this topic.

I stop fishing for them around the end of Oct. & even now I stay away from fish that seem to have paired up. I don't fish near any redd from now until the end of April. And I cease wading anywhere there may be a redd downstream until spring so the eggs won't get silted over.
I also won't fish Brookies from now till Spring.

I enjoy sneaking up to gravel sections in the bushes & watching the fish around the redds. I take my whole family to watch it. Great times.

It is pretty easy for my mind to wander towards fishing when the hunting has been this frustrating.  This just seemed like it would be an interesting topic, then again the lack of posts seems to indicate otherwise.

I think I am going home this weekend, I may hunt or I may head up to Erie.  Both are better options than being stuck in this town for homecoming weekend!

As we get close to the end of October, you'll start to see more and more fish on redds. I havent seen any spawners yet, but the male browns are getting pretty aggressive. I was on a local spring creek this weekend, and saw a couple nice browns chasing each other around. This tells me the spawn isn't too far away.

There's no harm in fishing right now......just be carefull where you fish. After this weekend i'm not going to fish for trout til' december.

I too stay out of the creeks until late December. I was on Yellow Creek last weekend and saw several paired fish. I hope for their sake we can get some more rain.
