i live in erie...its raining here at 2 am...has been for the past couple hours...i will keep you posted i will be going to fish tomorrow around 10 and then 4...(in between classes)

As of 7am, its still raining in Erie. No downpour, but steady. The local forecast says it should rain till around noon. Just enough rain to get a fresh run of fisherman up the creeks.
I don't always snag fish, but when I do... I choose Little Cleos I'm the best looking smartest snagging poacher alive...

Keep in mind that rain is only part of the equation, the other is water temperature. Its still pretty warm this morning, and its a warm rain so the tribs won't be any cooler than the lake. While the flow may move some fish, there certainly won't be a major run until the water tempertures drop.

The lake effect should start kicking within a few weeks, in November sometime or whenever the water temp is 10+ degrees warmer than the air. Keep in mind, folks living south of Meadville may not know it's raining in Erie, even some of the folks living along the lake may not know.
Rain generally will not show on weather radars until it reaches 10,000 feet, which is higher than the rain clouds coming off the lake. Sometimes they pop up around Edinboro, but to the eye on the screen, it doesn't look like it's raining in Erie, yet it is.

DROVE BY THE MCKEAN HOLE ON THE WAY TO WORK. ITS FLOWING GOOD AND IS LIKE CHOCO MILK RIGHT NOW. WAS UNEXPECTED TO SEE IT LIKE THAT WITH THE LITTLE BIT OF RAIN LAST NIGHT. I CAN'T SAY ABOUT THE OTHERS BUT THEY SHOULD BE FLOWING GOOD TOO.

This is as of 9:35am 10-16-08. Here is the website. I don't know how accurate but the facility is pretty close to Walnut. Daily Rain: 0.83 in Yesterday's Rain:

Its hard to judge what is happening by one days rain, normally Elk would still be low but its flowing good and like choco milk right now. The ground still had some water in it from the last rains. It will fall fast unless the rain continues. See ya out there in the AM
