EAST ERIE FISH CLEANING

Not to break the rules so I won't mention any names but the bait shop on the east side now has a fish cleaning license and a very nice set up. Plus they will also be smokin fish soon.

They need a bank of fish to get started smokin fish.

Lots of fish are moving into the creeks over here.

Why would mentioning names of a bait shop be breaking the rules?

Use of the board to promote other commercial web sites or tackle shops, or web sites or tackle shops which compete with the FishUSA.com, FishErie.com or FishSalmonRiver.com web sites is prohibited.

Well, I guess you're correct on that, but if the bait shop in question is a paid customer (advertising here) than it should be okay!

Jesus isn't this a fishing site?  Talk of bait shops if you are not promoting them should not be a problem.  If it is mean to help out fishermen and not promote the shop.  Stating that there is a bait shop, where it is, what it's called, and any services is no different than any mention of where to buy the best sandwich or the best hotels in Erie.  If there has to be censorship on mentioning a bait shop why would Fishusa even bother having a discussion board?  Because that is simply a discussion, not an ad.  If the baitshop comes on here and starts posting themselves that's a different story.

Where would it end?  Should there be no discussion of rod/reel brands?  Hook brands?  Any fishing tackle Fishusa does not sell?  I would think even the owner of the site did not have that intent on creating this board.

A buddy of mine was telling me about a place you can go and exchange some raw steel and some $$$ for a smoked steel.  Anyone know of the name of the place?  I can't remember it.

    2 bucks a fish.

I wished I would have kept my receipt. But I was charged $5 per fish. The kid that did the filleting and the lady both said that is what they charged. I thought it was high.

I guess they screwed up, or Kirk changed price.  Anyway, it's
    2 now.

$2 certainly isn't bad. Most of the places on Ontario charge $3-5 per fish

Yes it only $2.00 for straight clean or fillet. We also offer smoked whole fish or fillet smoked even exchange. Whole smoked is 10 & fillet smoke is $11.50. Stock is low today but we are pulling them out of the smoker right now.

Holy crap are the fish ever active on the east side creeks.  Saw some really big brown trout that were brought in.

Stopped in Saturday (10-18-08) at east end anglers and talked to kirk. We got things straightened out on the overcharge for the filleted fish. He's not a bad guy and I'll be back to see him. Thanks capt!
