Thompson Center Encore

Anyone own an encore?

I'm looking at purchasing the shotgun/turkey model and adding a .25-06 barrel and forend.

Just looking for comments, good or bad, about the Encore.

I was shooting mine on Saturday.  I put an MGM 223 rem barrel on a basic frame (with trigger job) and plain wood.  It shot a couple of 1/4" groups and a bunch around 1/2".  That was with the first set of reloads and barnes bullets (which aren't necessarily known for accuracy).  It shoots HSM factory ammo into less than 1/2" for 5-shot groups.  You could say I'm happy with it.

I'm ordering a 17 AH barrel for it before Christmas to replace my HMR.

    Thanks,
    Rick

I own two frames and three barrels and two different buttstocks.  Love them all.  I would opt for the Prohunter frame with the swing hammer.  That is a nice feature.
