Calculate Bow Speed

http://www.bucklemke.com/ke/ke.php

Just a few things ive learned also...

ALL SPEED LOSSES!

A rubber tube peep - 6-10fps
Brass nock - 2-4fps
String Loop - 1-3fps
Rubber Buttons - 2fps

IBO speed is rated at 70# draw, 30", 100 Grain Tip with no accessories. You will never hit IBO with your hunting bow. You can come close.

Every 1" drop in draw length is roughly a loss of 10fps.

A Bow with 65% let-off is faster then a bow with 80% let-off. Short brace heights also equal speed but at the cost of forgiveness.

If anyone has any corrections or antying to add, please do so.

Cool site Jeremy.  I punched in all the stats for my bow and it says that it should be shooting 280fps.  I punched in 40gr for the string accessories and that may be a tad lower than the actual weight.  I had my bow on the chrono last year and I was getting about 275fps.  That is still pretty close for a simulator.

I got tons of crap to do this week.  It is looking like tomorrow evening I can make an hour or so to do some shooting though.  I want to fling a few with the rages to be positive they are flying with my field points.  I will shoot you an email or give you a buzz tomorrow.  T-minus 110 hours!  This week can't end soon enough for me.

My speed was very believable.  Interesting sight.  259fps, btw.  29", 60lb draw, 350 grain arrow.

My numbers were close also.. Even though the new bow(Bowtech 101st) is awful slow at 275fps..Bow was rated at 325 IBO..

I need to go to clarence tonight. I took those catwiskers off and my bow got obnoxiously loud. Those "bow jax" are junk. Im gonna head up there and get some new wiskers and get rid of that peep. You wouldnt believe the noise that thing makes. I can almost bet thats the sound you cant find on your bow. I did some testing last night.
