Chauncy: Normally that is what i would do but this reel was resurrected from 25 feet down in yough dam. I picked it up and took it home and cleaned it out. It needed a new handle which i had laying around the house.
The part that holds the bail on the back of the spool was all corroded/missing/shot? (whatever best applys) and i used jb weld to build a new one. To make a long story short the reel works fine but for some reason about half the time when the bail closes the line goes to the back side instead of to the roller side. I probably have the bail put in at a angle that is slightly wrong.
I had given this reel and rod to a neighbor kid and he mentioned the problem and i was just trying to see if i could get a part. I'm sure if shimano saw this reel they would wonder what happened, but except for the bail it works great.
