2008 NW PA Lake Wilhelm Carpin' Get-Together

Well it's about that time of year again for our annual carpin' event at Lake Wilhelm.  Here's the info.:

    I've never fished for Carp before, but I have plans to be at Lake Wilhelm that day. Whats this get together about? Sounds like it will be fun...I'd just like to know a little more about the get together.

    It's basically about having some fun catching carp.  Anyone is welcome.  Those that will attend will be using a variety of baits and techniques for ya to check out.  This will be our 7th. year having the fall carp fish-in at Wilhelm.  Stop on by.

    All right,

    So I went to Wilhelm last weekend to put some bait out, and do some fishin'. The carp weren't exactly rippin' at the beach. Only managed to get into two carp, landing one, a nice brute in the mid teens. Ho-hum.  Got a sucker as well.
    Noticed a big dying catfish in a weedbed at one point and hung it on my scale-------16 lbs., nice big, almost dead channel cat----oh well.
    The shoreline weeds are pretty bad as usual, so boots or waders could come in handy at certain spots. I should have a rake to clear any water weed if needed during the fish-in.
    Will be putting out more bait next week.

    Hopefully, they'll be rippin' as usual for the fish-in.
