Resident Goose Populations

Here in S.E. Butler County, it seems that the resident goose populations are down pretty significantly from the past several years.  The area I hunt, and areas I don't hunt. NOT COMPLAINING, as I know the purpose of the early season is to thin resident populations.

But I'd say the flocks I've been keeping tabs on are about half of what they've been in the past 3 or 4 years, although they seem to be feeding and watering in the same places.

Just wondering if you guys are noticing the same thing in your early season areas of if some of the bulk of the birds I'm used to seeing have taken up residence in other areas?

Today I saw atleast 500 geese during a golf outing in butler county, and just last week I was in a golf tournament and saw 100 geese and at least 40 of them were banded. I am hoping to get permission to hunt on these 2 golf courses.                       take em,
