first salmon trip ever

going to try some salmon fishing for the first time. where is a good place to maybe be able to hook into some nice kings. i see the salmon river is really popular but is a pretty long drive from brownsville pa. bout 8 hours it looks like. any good place closer??

    going to fish from sure. i go to erie for steelhead about 20 times a season and catch 100s of fish. i want to hook into a big king. any suggestions on where to go and where to fish ?

    look at the niagra river fish from shore and you will get a fish or a ton more look at devils hole great fishery or i have heard of burt dam do not know where it is i take a boat and fish several holes and drifts even the sand bar from a 16ft but powered well 2gas and two ele motors with 18 gal gas two batts and 2 anchors and 400 ft of line the holes depth can go down to 200+ft

    i'd go burt dam or oak orchard if you've never been before. these places are packed(should to shoulder) but its a smaller stream setting and you'll get the feel for it a little easier(what the bites feel like, how the fish lay, etc). but with it being shoulder to shoulder if you need help with something or want to know something about salmon fishing(what your doing wrong/right etc), you can just ask someone. most everyone on the streams are more than happy to help you out and most of them remember their first trip also. hope this helps and have a great season.
