Fly Fishing Techniques for the Lake

All- really have no experience fly fishing in the lake outside the tribs.  What are some of the techniques that you use?

I would think pitching streamers and strip retrieves.   Any advice?  Thanks for the assist!

When the tribs are low, I'll spend quite a bit of time at the mouths.  Try using a small indicator and tie on a streamer, bugger or a nymph, and hang it about a foot or two below your indicator.  Try and locate where the fish are moving in front of the stream mouth.  Cast and let your offering settle, and then twitch your indicator with a few small pulls.  Let your fly settle for a few seconds before retrieving again.  I find this technique a little more successful than just casting and stripping streamers.   Sometimes if the waves are small rollers it'll help with giving your fly a little movement.   Have fun!

No dropper.  Of course you can always try one.  Fly selection varies as well.  Just keep throwing on flies till something works.    And don't forget to yell "Hard right! or Hard left!!"
