Bluegills spawn twice a year?

I just read an article in PA Outdoor News that said bluegill spawn twice a year(May then July-Aug).  I have seen blue gills spawning in June but never July or August.  Am I missing something?  I don't think the same bluegill will spawn twice in one year.  Any thoughts?

Bluegills spawn during a longer period than most sunfish, from May, when the water temperature reaches 67 degrees, until August.

The second spawn is deeper. You would need scuba gear to "see" it.
