Didn't go back last weekend but the guys on the OGF site said the eyes were a little farther out than the perch pack at conneaut. Said they were thick out of Geneva. 2 mile wide school. 72ft of water, down 25 to 35 ft.

Is the lake ever going to calm down? Can't take my 16 1/2ft boat out on 4ft waves.

I went last weekend.  Friday there were no waves at all.  The calmest I've ever seen.  We went out to about 65 feet of water and caught 40+ fish between 4pm and 6:30 pm.

On Saturday the waves were 5+ feet.  As sson as we got the boat out of the harbor the waves were crashing over the boat and we turned around.  Anchored in the harbor and caught 5 perch and 5 white bass.  My buddy got sea sick IN THE HARBOR so we quit after about 45 minutes... We said screw it and went jet skiing instead.

Chauncy- He said The Lake was white-capping Saturday so bad it knocked the cooler form one-side of the boat to the other, very powerful.....sometimes we forget we're nothing more than a guest on Erie. Wednesday it is calling to be 2 footers or less.
Is there a live person that can be called in Ashtabula for up-to-the minute weather/wave reports akin to calling Walnut Creek and talking toone of the employees there?

Left the dock at 7:00am. 2'ers. Traveled N-NE 30* to 63'. 30 plus boats in the pack. Caught fish from the first drop for 2 hrs. Many 10". Cupla 12". Mostly small. SLOWED DOWN for the next two hrs. Wind picked up to 4 footers. Bite Picked up again around 2-3 o'clock.
4 Tickets. Caught at least 20 under 6". The bite was very light. Use 4# Fireline, a one once sinker and a long stiff graffite pole. Use a 4# 16" mono leader UNDER THE SINKER, #6-#8 Gold-red HOOK. THE BAIT HAD TO BE ON THE BOTTOM!  NOBODY HAD LIVE BAIT, USE SALTED SHINERS. HOOK TWO SMALL ONES THROUGH THE EYES! Hold the sinker just off the bottom, if you feel ANYTHING, SET THE HOOK! We only had a few doubles, hardly no fish on the upper hook off the bottom. WE MARKED MILLIONS OF FISH ALL DAY! Good Luck
