Herring / stripers in Troy 4/26

Alewives in large numbers in the Poestenkill... cormorants are feasting.  I saw some guys chunking in Troy that said that five stripers were caught there this morning- I heard of a 23lber in Green Island yesterday. Water temps at dam were about 49... water still murky but not as much big stuff floating down.  This weekend should be excellent fishing.
 
I already have a trout trip in Catskills booked for weekend so i'll miss it. Hopefully I'll latch onto a nice brown instead.

    was out again fishing the tribs
    so far i have been comitted to using a fly:

    no luck yet
    today i will venture to the river
    a few fish have been showing up and the people are starting to get out more also

    now here is JUST MY opinion:
    the regulations should be changed to stop the netting of herring
