I fished the gravel pits in fairview (outside of erie )and we creamed em'. Mayfly roosters, small kastmasters outfished live baits 10 to 1. Caught and released 40 fish by 10 o'clock. Kept two good browns and a tiger. Great day!

The trout program in this state is a joke. Shame on the PFBC for stocking these immature fish.

I wondered that yesterday, myself. I imagine it was just for last year. I remember every other fish I caught last year resembling a steelhead, big difference this year.

great day why, my 8 yr old son caught his first trout on a spinning rod with a pins minnow he then proceed to catch several more, i played guide told him where to cast and he caught fish, he wanted to keep the brown about 12 in to eat so i gutted it wrapped it in foil put on gas grill we ate it half for me half for him, then i said lets start a tradition every year we will keep the first one on opening to share for dinner,he smiled and said it needs salt lol.

    I have become comfortably numb

Not sure were you guys were fishing but every stream I helped stock this year the fish were very nice sized compaiered to previus years. 80 percent of the fish my girlfriend and myself landed opening day were over 11 inches with most in the 12 to 14inch range. Both streams qwe fished were stocked by corry hatchery and most fish landed were of the rainbow trout variety but we did get a few decentt sized browns in the mix. Will not post numbers or biggest fish as I am sick of being bashed everytime I post such.

SO MANY FISH SO LITTLE TIME.
WHY ARE ALL THE PLACES I HAVE YET 2 FISH SO FAR AWAY?

Fished a Delayed Harvest Artificial Lure Only area Saturday afternoon and had it to myself.  Can Man gave me some suggestions and I had a blast with the Browns in the stream.  Was surrounded by loud Gobblers to start the day.  It is beautiful down here.  Moved to other places later on and there was plenty of room and the fish were very nice size.  Not sure where all the smaller fish were stocked, or what people consider to be "big fish," but my experience was all positive.

I agree with you Grendel. I fished Halfway Dam(Union Co.) Caught 20 in about 2 hours(had to work in the morning). I thought they were pretty decent fish for stockies. Great day for the first day of the season!

I managed to land some real hogs. 20-24 inchers. They fought so hard that a few broke me off.
It was tough getting the beadhead out of those rubber lips though!
Fished with Ronnie and agree with him, small.

I agree on the smaller fish.  The rainbows I was catching were barely legal.  I fished 2 different streams with the same results.

We fished the Yellow Breeches between Allenberry and Williams Grove Sunday because the State stocked on Wed.  What a shame!!!  Small (7-9 inches) brookies.  What about the fewer fish, bigger fish stocking.  We didn't kill any.  Would not waste my time to fillet 5 that size.  Makes me look forward to smallies on the rivers.

The stream (pine creek) was crowded at 6am when i Git there so I took my kayak out in North Park to get away from the crowds. Caught a good number of fish with the largest at maybe 12"

While I think the fish were mostly smaller, based on the number of fish stocked, I'm not complaining.

Not to mention the size was made up for with the rubber lips every other fish.

Went out today and caught two browns on little PT's, and I was only fishing around an hour and a half.  I had a really good time.  The water was perfect, and there were still plenty of fish hanging around.  I have pics, but can't seem to find the USB cord so it may be a while...
