New Steelheader!

Gentlemen,
I suppose you have all read about my grandson catching a steelhead last week.  Well, here's an update.  He has 4 days off school due to remodelling and the first place he wants to go is:   Steelheading!   When I told him that the tribs are closed this Friday he immediately got on line and then asked me:  "Well then why not Ohio?  It's right beside Erie, and what's a manistee?"  Now he is talking 7-8 wt flyrod with fighting butt.  Someone has created a monster! He wants to start tying, and he has started his own bamboo rod. Ah, to be young and enthusiastic.

    Bug,
Yeah, thanks!  If I'm Dr. Frankenstein then you and T.T. and Skip must be competing for the role of Igor. But you have to take full blame for the tying thing.  Every day his mom and dad hear:  " Can we go to Gander Mt. and just LOOK at fly tying equipment?  Please?"   See you Thursday.  Hey, post pix of the purple rod.

At least if he is interesting in tying flies he is not out smoking dope or doing some other stupid thing.  Besides, once he gets up and running you will have an endless supply of flies....

If I get a chance I will see about posting a photo or two of the "Bishop's staff".  I am not too sure about using it for the Oil creek outing.  I most likely will stick with my other rods.  I would hate to break it.  You know me an bamboo.  If I am fishing with it, its going to get broken....
