tribs...

is it still worth the time and effort for steelies, or has the smolts and suckers totally taken over?

    There were a ton of smolt in middle Elk yesterday, but there were still a few steelies around.  If you are looking for a 50 fish day, I would say it is not worth the trip, but if you like to walk the streams and put a few steelies on the bank, then it might be worth a trip.  One other thing, the water is still very cold and the fish are a bit more sluggish now than in the fall.  The spectacular runs and jumps are rare with the spring steelies.

    Well we do have some warm rain on its way starting tomorrow. Ive actually had some of my best days in early april but I like to hike.
