Crossing The Canadian Boarder With Your Boat

I am looking for any items that I can do ahead of time to make the crossing easier. I know about my ****, I was thinking you may have to take or fill out some paper work for the boat.

Are there any restrictions as to what I can bring across the border?
Personal baggage (in reasonable quantities) is duty-free, provided all items are declared upon entry and are for your own personal use (not intended for resale). Personal items include camping, fishing and other recreational equipment, boats & motors, cameras, typewriters, musical instruments and consumable goods. Any gasoline or oil imported, beyond the normal capacity of your vehicle, is subject to duty.

    Bring your boat
Pleasure craft may enter Canada by trailer or under their own power. Customs officers are stationed at all highway border crossings and at harbours as indicated in Guide to Federal Harbours (Ontario) - see "Getting Around With Ease" for source. A customs officer will issue a permit on entry which must be returned on departure as proof that the boat has left the country.

Thanks pghmarty,  I looked on the web and could not find anything. Everytime I searched I was getting hits on if you were going to import a boat to Canada. You are great at the web research.

I never had anybody even look at my boat coming or going.  Take your title and registration to be safe.  Also check out Canada's safety regs.  They require different gear.  Be sure to leave your beer and 12gauge flares at home.
