"Instant Fishermen" - Infomercial

If you have seen the infomercial, you'll know what I mean when I say, what a JOKE! It's almost a disgrace to fishermen! http://www.instantfisherman.net/ Take a look for yourself. Can you believe they sell this unit for $40.00 plus shipping? I seriously can not get over what a joke this is?

It's absolutely hysterical, please check it out.

As long as here are infomercials there are those that purchase junk. The infomercial industry is a huge money maker. I only wish that I thought of any one of their items.

There is always someone out there who is more than happy to separate you from you money.  As my father was fond of saying, "A fool and his money are soon parted."  Although, if Orvis came up with a collapsible fly rod and reel combo, maybe.......... Nah, it would cost way more than $40.00.  Heck the line alone would cost more than that.

What is interesting to me is the apparent need to be ready to fish at an instant.  The rod and reel are one thing, but what about tackle.  Is there an Instant tackle?  Collapsible lures?  Instant bait???  Folding hooks?.  I guess what I am saying is, having a rod and reel is one thing, but if you don't have any terminal tackle, the rod and reel are about as useless as tits on a turtle.

Of course, there is the other issue of fishing while playing golf... I love that.  One can only imagine your golfing partners wanting to wait for you while you fished all the water hazards....  I can hear it now, "Yea, just a couple of more casts, guys.  That big bass took a swipe at my jitterbug the last time it passed the lilly pad."

I guess in defense of this thing, there is a portion of the market that would find the Instant Fisherman a useful device.  If you only occasionally fished, travelled a lot and wanted an inexpensive compact rod and reel set up, it might just be the ticket.

I must admit, I would love to see one of these things first hand.  It may be an interesting novelty.

You really have to see the whole informercial for the "instant fishermen" it's breathtakingly terrible. I did a little research, if you google "instant fishermen", you get a TON of customer complaints about it.

When I used to golf, an ice fishing rod, two spinnerbaits and a handful of rubberworms were always in my bag.  When there was a backup and my group was near the ponds, it was time to fish.  One of the ponds had some very large Northerns in it and we used to catch them regularly.

    cp13,

The rod in the video is not the same one I was talking about.  Actually, the rod from Penfishingrods look like they may be something to investigate.

Believe it or not, the Pedegg is great! They carry it in the "as seen on tv" section at Walgreens. Crusty feet run in my family (pun fully intended) and I can remember back when I was a little kid, my dad would soak his feet and then use his pocket knife to cut away the thick skin on his heel. I've been doing that because no lotions or rubs had really helped, and the first time I used PedEgg I was amazed how well it worked.

Now I can put my belt sander back with the tools! ;)

Well...I had one of the best laughs in recent memory this morning. I was delivered a package to my home from "fisherie". A COLEMEN FISHING PEN! JUST WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED!!!!!!! Haha, I will tell you, my family and I got quite a kick out of it.

Only problem is, I couldn't make out the name of the jokester who sent it. My name and address are 100% legible, but the return address seems to be purposely illegible! So..... who's the funny guy?

The wife is going to thank me when I buy mine and get rid of my collection of rods in the basement and garage!  Did you notice how fast they were cranking on the handle?  The thing must have like a 1:0.25 retrieve ratio.

I wonder how it'll hold up to a dipsey with the jumbo ring?  Probably have to buy custom rod holders too.
