Mink
Anyone know where I can get some Mink? Am about out and my old supplier is no more. I use it for alot of my nymphs. There is no substitute IMHO. Thanks, Salmo

Dark Brown- still on the skin. Body squares, or tails. A whole pelt may be too much. Thanks. Should have put that in.

I would think that would be rather water resistant? Ive pretty much made the switch to synthetics unless I want somthing spikey. salmo, what exactly are you tying, id be interested in a description of this pattern. Are you simply using it as dubbing, or are you wrapping it like pheasant tail fibers.

Are you simply using it as dubbing, or are you wrapping it like pheasant tail fibers. I use it because it is water resistant. The natural oils in the water animals do not soak up the water as other things. They also by resiting water trap tiny air bubbles that help the fly seem more lifelike. These are things I've been taught by an old master. He may be wrong, but it works for me, and it makes sense.
