Tamarack

Anyone try Tamarack through the ice this year?  Went there once last summer and caught nothing but extremely small pan fish, caught a ton, but decided not to waste anymore time.

Italked to the fish warden last year and he said they a die-off of bluegill and crappies.  they thought there was too many and were stunted.  you would see dead panfish floating when you were out in a boat.  also haven't caught any walleye either.  i think alot were taken out.  if i wanted to catch panfish, i'd got to woodcock or canandota.

Tamarack has never been the same since the drawdown. IMO they stocked to many panfish fry and they never grew into any size. Most of the legal size eyes got roped in the 1st 2 yrs. of reopening, just ask eggsac. And to top it off they over stocked the lake with muskies.
So to sumarize if you want to catch muskies it is the best lake in the state for numbers although the size generally runs only in the 30's but if you want to catch panfish or eyes you'd be better off looking for a different lake.
