Need Help Catching Panfish

I’m looking for some help catching some panfish. I have been trying pieces of night crawler with a bobber a couple foot above the hook and a sinker maybe a foot above the hook. I have been casting close to the shoreline or near the dock and have had one little nibble. I’m wondering if I’m missing something with my setup. For example, I’m seeing stuff about fluorocarbon which I’m not using. I’m also seeing people fish further out from the bank. Also getting conflicting info on reeling in and just letting it sit. Any good resources for minimal bank fishing for bream and stuff?

I wouldn't be too worried about fluorocarbon for panfish. Just keep moving until you find them. I wouldn't let my bobber sit in 1 spot for more than a minute or so. Give it a couple twitches now and then to keep them looking at it. Meal worms work best as bait for me. Size 8 or so Aberdeen hooks are my go to.

Dont need fluoro for pans just a small size mono. Try your bobber method if don’t work go deep. Let sit then pull in a little let sit and repeat. Smaller hook and let them take it. If you feel a good pull hook. It’s alot of water cover as much as you can goes with any fish.

dont depend on fat night crawler pieces. dig some  garden worms and break them down use small hooks like a #10 and a light line like a 4lb-since they dont break the line just add a length of leader to the heavier line you may be using now

You can target areas with overhanging vegetation, submerged trees, shaded harbors, and aquatic vegetation, as panfish often seek cover. Try live bait like earthworms, crickets or minnows as Panfish will attack a wide variety of natural and man-made baits. Use small hooks (sizes 6 and 8 are best) with small reels loaded with 4 or 6 lb test lines for the perfect sensitivity and power to tackle this species.
