One man's turd is another man's gem.... uh wait, 🤔 that doesn't quite sound right but I think you get the gist of the conversation.🙃

We'll be looking for your opinion.

Good times and tight lines.

Woodcock is still 10hp? Never fished it by boat b/c of my 20hp outboard. Have fished the outlet years ago, would catch crappies and perch. Guys would also fish for musky at the outlet too.

Any boat under 16 feet you have to wear your life preserver at all times. This late in the year I would focus on the creekbed that winds down through the middle of the lake and down around the dam. Walleyes are really tough during the day, best bite is after dark.

With that LJ rule I am guessing then it's a corp of engineers lake? I haven't boated for a few years on a C of E waterway but remember there are some different rules, with LJ being one of them.

Went to Edinboro in the early 90's, used to fish the spillway.  We always caught fish there.  Trout, walleye, musky, crappie, just about everything.

KJN,

I think they mean life jacket?  There is a rule on Army Corps of Engineers lakes that any boat under 16' and all kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, etc require the wearing of a Personal Flotation Device (PFD).  At least I think thats how the rule goes.

Effective immediately, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is pleased to announce that Woodcock Creek Lake is now a 20 horsepower lake! The decision to transition from 10h.p. to 20h.p. is a result of requests from you, our users. This move puts Woodcock in-line with similar surrounding lakes while at the same time maintaining the safety aspect that is so very important in small, shallow reservoirs such as Woodcock.
The mandatory Life Jacket wear remains in place. All Canoes/Kayaks/SUPs, all boats under 16 feet, all non-swimmers and all children 12 and under are mandate to WEAR a Life Jacket while recreating on Woodcock Creek Lake.
Questions can be directed to the Lake office at 814-763-4422.

I wonder how the fishing is a after that time the lake was drained and a lot of the fish were washed into the creek?

Unless they restocked it probably sucks. I was there the day it was drained. Just a shallow stream was left.

Hear there still some fish left. Maybe not as many numbers. Since the population thinned out might be some monsters growing.

Restock at Woodcock!

The U.S. Army Corps of engineers Pittsburgh District purchased a restock of fish that included 325 walleye, 250 muskellunge, 16,000 golden shiner and 32,000 fathead minnows. The restock was conducted to help replenish the fish population at Woodcock Creek Lake, which suffered a loss in March when a malfunction caused an unexpected drop in pool from the lake, sending many fish downstream. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission partnered with the Pittsburgh District by conducting several fish studies over the months and offered guidance on which fish and how many to restock.

The #PittsburghDistrict has been working with Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission to restore Woodcock Creek Lake to a world-class fishery by restocking Walley, Muskellunge and other fish vital to the aquatic life within the lake. We are committed to continue partnering with the #PAFishBoat Commission to invest in the aquatic life of this lake.

We restocked the lake with 325 Walleye (6-8 inches), 250 Muskellunge (10-12 inches), 16,000 Golden Shiner and 32,000 Fathead Minnows. #Woodcock is a hidden gem for our local fishing community.
