junk fish

new to the forum.. coming to presque isle bay in 2 weeks and was wondering what is meant by Junk fish when fishing for walleye..
people post fishing reports and say they caught junk fish ...

    When anglers are trolling for walleye they can accidently catch Sheepshead and White Bass also. These are the fish that they are most likely referring to. Because these fish aren't really kept most anglers will refer to them as junk fish.

    Anyfish you don’t want to keep and eat are considered junk fish. Even fish you just don’t want to catch.
