    I used to live beside a trout hatchery and the owner became a good friend of mine. He told me that idiots would throw cigarette buts into his ponds the trout would eat them and it pluged their belly and they died.

    sorta like the guys that leave loads of chew spit all over where their shanty was... at least chew will disappear, cigarette buts, is another story...

    that's a shame,   plus there is a few good drags left on some of those......

    Thats sorta like leaving 2lbs of sunflower seed shells laying on the ice when you leave. Or setting empty canisters in your hole so you dont have to carry those heavy things back to shore to dispose of.

    cigarette butts, garbage, absolutley no way!   But stuff like sunflower seeds and chew, idon,t see a problem with.

    May i ask, why not? Isn't the seeds considered litter? The chew, if you leave it laying on the ice, is okay to you? This is just me, but i believe if it wasn't there when i got there, it shouldn't be there when i leave. Thats just me tho. U B U, I M I.

    you have a problem with sunflower seeds?  give me a break.  do you have a problem with shiners that are left behind on the ice? what about the saw dust that comes out of our grub containers?
     
    i cant stand people that leave behind cig butts, beer cans, or any other garbage. i have no problem with people discarding sunflower seed shells, minnows, sawdust from crub containers and the like.
     
    some people are too uptight.

    While I completley understand the astetic problems with anything left on the ice, I don't consider organic biodegradable items a problem.  Just my opinion.  Kind of like tossing an apple core in the woods while packing your sandwich bag out.  Just my opinion....  Technically seeds are no different than the christmas tree that someone sinks for fish structure.
     
    P.S.  The ones at shenango with all the backwoods cigar butts is right over a nice stump, that guy has been catching a lot of fish.

    I,m sure no one has ever taken a leak on the ice before. None of it is good but **** happens. Even on the ice.

    I may mention it's not good pratice, but I don't make enemies on the ice. they may be the one who has to pull your****out of water

    Their is no reason to litter.  Looks terrible and can hurt the very fish you are after.
