Not much snow accumulation in the forecast but the low temps are looking good.

May the hard water soon be, upon younz.

We got lucky with the weather Saturday. Warm but no rain. I managed to put two legal bucks and quite a few does out to two of our guns but they couldn't get a shot at the bucks and passed on the does. When I had a chance to sit on a drive, nothing came close enough for the hammer to drop. Considering how warm and windy it was, we had a pretty good day despite no shots being fired.

Rain was off and on here which kept me from hitting the woods. Had 3 nice size doe by the driveway yesterday around 5 when I was pulling in. That wind was no joke!

Took a walk this afternoon to see what kind of firewood mother nature laid down with those winds. A few new trees down made me happy I wasn't out there when it happened. Found this guy laying in an old blowdowns. My property boarders I79 and with a couple broken ribs it looks like he got smacked by a car. 6pt with a 20" spread. Bummer...he was a big azz deer. Saw him the night I shot my buck in archery. Couldn't make out the brows or small point on the right side and thought he was a massive 3pt.

Aaaaannnddd......another rainy Saturday. Slept in after being on the road most of the week. Aorund 930 I took a short walk out back to have a smoke. Sure as chit spotted 2 doe 60yds out with no gun in hand. Had good intentions of going out this afternoon hoping to find them hiding in the hemlocks, but the constant rain kept me hiding indoors. For those of you who braved it, hope you were successful for your efforts

Another washout in this corner of the state on Saturday. Today would have been nice to be out but at work. Too bad Sunday hunting in more seasons looks like a long way off. Sundays have been nice.

Congratulations to your buddy Moses, nothing like getting it done last minute.

Got out for the last hour and half behind the house. Couldn’t sit in my ladder or my grapevine stands due to the wind and anticipated approach of the deer. So I took up a stand next to a beech tree about 100 yds from my ladder on a well used gas line crossing. Sure enough at 5:00 here they come from the opposite direction and walked within 10 yds of both my other stands. I just had to laugh, so I ended the season seeing 5 doe and eating tag soup.

My son had a great time to-day even though he missed a nice 7pt,he got to see the big 8 pt that he's been hunting all year. total to-day he saw 3 racks & 2 spikes & 8 does that were all around him. The 3 racks were traveling together & when he went to see if he hit the 7 pt he said that he could smell that buck. I am thinking that the bucks were following the does to see if any were in heat. He took the miss pretty good, but was really bummed when he checked his camera & found that the big 8 was with-in 5 yds of his tree stand at 5pm last Sat. in the rain while Dan was in the house staying dry. Oh Well  BTY my bud & his son also saw deer early this afternoon including 2 bucks that did not offer any shots. All in all seems like to-day was a good day to be in the woods.   sam
