antique tackle

Does anyone colleccct old fishing related items for fun or as a hobby.was wondering have several what i believe to be old Garcia conolon fishing rods,along with several others,and about 15 reels.That a older woman gave me .

    Yea I collect it. If you want to,list what you have,and I'll try to look up what the're worth.

    rippinlip,here is a short list of the garcia rods.all are garcia conolon.the first one is a model 2135t/6.5 ft fast taper/extra light action.the second one is a 5.8 ft/model #2222 husky musky fast taper action.the third is a 6.5 /fast taper action bait&spincast model #2218t.all of these rods ccame in a black felt holder inside of a cardboard tube saying garcia.i also have several others along with several reels.these rods look brand new.

    The only two I have listed for Garcia in my book are #2621.....$74.00...and....#2102....$67.00...most of the rods listed are heddons...Garcia's must not be as collectible...they show four pages of Abu- Garcia reels...they ARE collectible...most are more valuable with the box and literature. If you want to, list the reels and I'll look em up.here are a few examples of reels...2500c....near mint...$152.00....5000D.....gold...with papers...$2,800...yes, that's $2,800.....The reels that have four screws holding the sideplate on rather than three, seem to be worth more. These are from Captain John's Fishing Tackle Price Guide. He gets his prices from auctions. A good idea for your rods value would be to look on e-bay. I have seen em on there.

    Sale the reels on Ebay I do it all the time. I make some nice money on Ebay because I sale all over the world.

    I have a garcia conolon 2151T 8ft surf action penn 85 reel the price on the box is $5.50...
    shakepeare #2905 5ft 6in medium rod garcia mitchell 402 salt water...
