Ok Jack. The rain dance has gone on long enough.
While we survived the deluge, the mud in my yard hasn't stopped since July unless it was frozen. Not likely now.
I got 5 weeks to play with fish . NO MORE RAIN.

I'm not dancing Rich,I'm in Ohio and the rain has screwed up the fishing for me as the rivers and streams are running high and muddy.I had one good day on the Rocky river with many Steel landed, but that was it for me as I'm heading home tomorrow. Now I will wait for Sept. to fight the mighty King!

Took advantage of the day without rain ( yet) and pulled camper out of the pit of despair where boat was.
Hopefully the weather changes for the better, meaning no rain of a few consecutive days....

On to the next adventure..

The culvert next to my house clogged and I have an 8 foot deep lake where a 6 inch trickle should be. It extends at least 1mile back and is 1/8 mile wide. The town unplugged it and it is down a foot now.

There was a culvert like that up on the Tubbs Road north of Altmar, on a feeder to Orwell.  It stayed plugged up for a couple of years but looked like it was going to come up over the road with the rain and snow this spring.  The town crew was at the Nice and Easy in Richland when 2B and I went in for coffee in the AM, and they were packing up to go late that afternoon up at the site.  It left a huge black area after it drained, I was thinking might be a great place to plant with all that mucky sediment deposited over a couple of years.

Never really had a deer ( horse) fly issue other than July berry picking or poolside. They seem to hang around the pool.
Typically, I'm outta the woods in July and August so maybe that's my experience.

No seeum's or skeeters however are relentless. There is no getting away from them right now. Spray sucks but seems somewhat effective. Biggest cure ive found is a bug fire. . They are immune to dope

Way too hot to handle for me. Sure hope we are not heading into drought conditions.
I'm watering my gardens daily now, the old fashioned way from rain barrels and water can but the barrels are getting empty.
Really need to get my drip irrigation system going from the barrels. Might be next weekend priorities.
Chickens are all gone ( for now) and they came out AWESOME !!

If all goes well I will have my boat docked in Mexico for the rest of season doing great lakes adventures.

Super excited that we just bought tickets to Lukas Nelson and POTR, a price that was right.
Heading out tonight for some dancing to live music. Gonna be a late night and sure hope the bar has A/C
stay cool folks

I don't like this weather at all. Deluge thunder storms after hot muggy days.
If it rains it pours and is wasted water. Rain barrels go from full to empty every week for the garden even though there is standing water in my back yard.
Garlic is drying nice and I'm making provisions for 3 times the planting this fall

HT leave sum them garlic cloves in thier dried skins, drizzle em with olive oil and pop em on the grill or in the oven. When done, squeeze em out of their skins and pop em in your mouth, mix em with smashed taters or seafood.

Dang it...😞 now I'm hungry.

Weather sucks. Far to hot for me to do much . Pretty much drought time now. Fishing is far from my thoughts, completing projects are priorities and they take twice as long in the heat and humidity.
Bright side :
The sun is setting quicker. Just need temperatures to get lower.
Local corn is getting higher and beginning to harvest.
Fall is on the horizon.
Don't know how anyone would leave the northeast for the southeast is beyond me. We get 2 months of fall, 5 months of winter and screw the rest. I'll take those seasons over any.

I've been out working all day since 6am. Break's on and off in the pool basically just to wash the yuck off.
13 hrs now and I'm toast. Time to hopefully get my dancing shoes on for a 35 year high school reunion at a local bar with our local band.

My charter friend is hammering all species in Oswego and begging me to bring the boat.
From his and dec accounts, its another banner lake year.
So little time, so much to do.
I hope to have some great lakes adventures soon

Today was the first good day in a bit for me weather wise. We missed a big heat wave when we were in Ireland for two weeks, got home on this week. Weeds took over the garden, but everything is doing ok .
