Buffalo Creek

Took a ride to Buffalo Creek yesterday 4/6.  Water was a little low and clear, water temperature around 2PM was 56 degree.  Little Black Stoneflies were coming of in descent numbers off and on all day along with a few midges. No hook ups but I did find out my waders don't leak LOL.

A bad day fishing is always better than a good day working.

Have you fished Buffalo creek anymore?
A friend wants me to take him to Buffalo creek to learn how to fly fish. Any water level data available?

    Thank you

I don't know of any USGS monitoring stations on Buffalo.

This one is several (maybe 5?) miles upstream of the Allegheny River. I don’t fish Buffalo often enough to know what good flows are for this gage, but you can kind of look at where it’s been and take a guess.

Hi Recman. Took a ride up to Buffalo on Saturday, water was still the color of chocolate milk and still high but looks like it was on its way down.  Should be ok by this weekend if we don't get anymore storms like we had last week.  I didn't even wet a line as it was threatening to storm again by the time I got there.  Hope this helps you out.
