pymatuning ice

Fished Pymatuning 1/27 1/28 out of Westford managed to catch 1legal walleye each day, ice was good around 5 in. there were a fair amount of people out on the ice. I drove by Manning there  were people on the ice but it didn't look like anybody ventured very far out. I also drove by Conneaut lake and there were huts out there as well.

checked out the ice at Pymatuning 1/11/2021 off of Manning I walked about 50 yards out and it was fairly solid I cant report how many inches because I did not have my drill or spud bar I would estimate around 2 1/2 if it keeps going into the 20,s at night we may have a season this year, also checked out Jamestown Marina and the docks are froze over and there are already people fishing thru the ice there, Conneaut also iced over but nobody fishing offshore on any of these lakes yet

Thanks for the report. Looks like a few more days of so-so temps, and then middle of next week some more ice friendly nighttime temps start.

checked the ice again on mon 10/18 and sorry to report at Manning it was pretty much wide open with the little bit of remaining ice soft and mushy, went to the Fries road access and lake was still skimmed over and strong enough to hold a couple of coyotes that were frolicking around out in the middle of the lake which was pretty cool to watch they were probably cleaning up the wounded geese from goose season. as far as the ice seems like it is repeating the same pattern as last year getting almost there and then warming up

Finally managed to get out on the ice on pymatuning this past Sunday Monday (1/31 2/1)
1st time in 2 years it was great to be ice fishing again , managed to catch 2 legal walleye and a couple jumbo perch plus a few undersized walleye all on sonars and jigging rapalas. Ice wasnt the greatest but doable for me at 3 1/2 inches use your own judgement, fished south end of lake in 20 ft of water there were quite a few people out even more by the dam where I heard the ice was a bit thicker , saw a couple sheds off of Manning but couldnt tell you how thick the ice is
