Erie is NEVER calm.  Except on those videos, which are clearly staged.  But yeah, if it is actually flat you can fish it in an old bathtub.  In the typical chop you'll get tossed around a bit in that boat but you'd probably be fine if you don't mind getting a bit wet.  2-4 in my 20' wasn't a whole lot of fun.

Thanks  for the input, Was just up there and fished walleye from my buddy's boat, for 3 days never more than 2 footers, but I know that lake can drum up 6 &8 footers real fast.  I think I would be fine if I watch the weather. my boat is deep inside , But I am looking to get a bigger boat foe Erie, like a 22 to 24 foot pro line or Grady white , used of course

Whoa, I think you woke up on the wrong side of the bed when you made your last two replies.  I think PSU just made a "funny" with some good advice.  For Erie, or any of the great lakes, bigger is better, if you want more fishing days, more comfort and more safety (when you get caught in a blow).  Make not mistake about it, if you fish the big lakes enough, even on ice cream summer days, you WILL get caught in a pop up storm and you will want the largest, most enclosed, most HP vessel you can to get you back to port safely.

A 22' to 24' Grady or Proline that you talk about in your post above is definitely a great starter boat for Erie and will get you many days out on the lake, even when it isn't flat calm.
My dad and I used to fish Erie in a 25' Skiffcraft hard top (wood lapstrake boat) that cut the Erie waves like butter.  Probably fished out there in stuff we shouldn't have been out in but, we had fun and boxed lots of walleyes....
If my wife didn't get seasick, I'd probably have another Erie boat and be out there all the time too....
good luck on your purchase and I hope you slay them in the summer of '19....
