Archery season 2018

I will start it off as we get an early jump here in the SRA's.

Went out in the morning and had two legal bucks come past at 10 yards right after first light. Both had 4 points on their left side. One had 2 on the other side and the other buck had 3. Let them go hoping for a baldie. No more deer seen in the morning. Went out and braved the heat in the afternoon and seen the same two bucks. No does seen. I have does on the camera but they no showed yesterday.

Felt good to be in the stand again in Pa. The long haul begins as I usually do around 30 sits a season.

Did all of the deer get their winter coats yet? Good luck this season.   I know you will get a few does.

My knee swelled up the last week.  Went to the doctor on Sat.  Feeling better now.   Haven't been able to hang any stands yet.   Hopefully, my knee will feel better next week and can get out there.

Panfisher sorry to hear of your knee. Hope the recovery is quick and ya can get out and about soon.

I Aint checked my field cams in over a month. Hell the batteries probably died.

Best of luck to all this season.

Got out to check the trail cams today.  Nothing but water everywhere.   Did have one nice buck on cam.    Hope to hang tree stands next week.   Knee still hurts but is getting better.

Some have, some haven't. Its been awfully warm this September. Both bucks I saw had winter coats. The does on camera are currently making the switch.

Spent a few hours this morning in the stand. Man, the air felt great for a change. Unfortunately, I didn't see a deer.

But fortunately...... for the deer.   I hear ya about the temps this morning, gonna be a beautiful day in PA.

Seven more days for my neck of the Pennsylvania Wilds then I can swing my feet, sitting in my high chair, in the trees watching the elusive PA White Tailed Deer.  They are sooooo damed cute.

I'm soooo happy.

I hear your excitement Thunderpole and wish you 'happy hunting'. As for no pics of big bucks, that's probably a good thing. I get pictures of some wall hangers every year, prior to season, then never see a legal buck when opening day arrives. Stupid elusive PA. White Tailed Deer.

Uhhh, bout chewing on backstrap watching football on Sunday. I wouldn't wish your hunting season away let alone, waste a good meal while watching Sunday football.

Be more fun knawing on a chunk of leftover venison, and chucking fishing lures.

Good luck this coming season.

Gorgeous looking elusive PA Male White Tailed Deer, Mopars.

Umm, I forget, where again did you say your game cam is located? 😝

Good luck buddy, sure hope we see another picture of that buck but this time, with you beside it.

We did one final check in the rain Tuesday and got 3 nice new bucks we never seen ,on the one property he came out 3 times right before dark right past one of my stands, and all the beans are crunchy brown except a 25x150 yard section right behind said stand that are absolutely pounded down so things are looking pretty good to slock a slick head Saturday I know me and the hoyt are ready to eat! Won't have much time to hunt this year as previous years so gotta make these sits count

I have been so **** busy. Lost my primary spot. NEW neighbors, lost some of my spark to get moving.
Cameras not out as to need new spot. Haven't seen anything for 2 months. My brother has been seeing bald ones.
Looked out this past Monday morning BUSTED my sides laughing. Brother was parked across the street.
3 bucks standing behind his truck. Looked like 2-6's and an 8. Nice tall racks. I hope to get my **** together and get out in 2 weeks.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE, BE SAFE.
GETTING COOLER, BLOOD WILL START PUMPING

Oh brother has several trees rubbed around his stand already

Saw two inside the ears 8 points this morning. Problem was I chose to trim stands and set cameras on a farm I don't usually hunt till the rut. I plan on sitting in the stand this evening on a different property.

Son and I had our first sit of the year this am. Heavy fog till around 9 really hampered our visibility. Round 9:15, we picked up movement in front of us, it was a young 6 pt browsing, came into about 45 yds before turning around and working his way back the same trail. That was it for us.

Saw lots of deer in my imagination this morning as I sat at the work blind.

Did get out this afternoon. Got to hunt my piece of property for the first time. Headed out around 3. Found an old shed on the way in, which I took as a good omen. Eased my way back an old logging trail with the climber looking for just the right spot. As I started back toward the tree I wanted to be in, a real nice 8pt crested the ravine 10 yds from said tree. We locked eyes for a second as I cursed still having my climber on my back, then he scurried off kicking up 2 bedded doe in the process about 100yds out. Didn't see anything once I actually got into the tree. Was a nice cool evening to be out. Good luck out there. Stay safe!
