Ended up wasting my vacation replacing  all fuel and brake lines on my plow truck. Took 18 hours of wrench time. Was ok because it rained most the week any way.  Was just going to pull the bed , but several bolts spun. Did not matter as both straps holding the tank up were rotted completely off and tank was held up by the skid plate.  I bough pre bent fuel lines but ended up having to cut them because of fitting issues. Brake lines I just made. Had one leak and had to drop the tank again, a double clamp fixed it.   On my back for all LL that time made me sore as hell today. There was SOOOOOOO much rust in my eyes and on the floor when I was finished. The truck is super rusty and I had to cut bolts after I pulled all the lines and tank. Worse job mechanically I have ever done.

I don't know how you do it Clint, and Andy. I try to fix what I can . Sometimes I think it's easier to cut ties and start over again though. At least for me.
I ended up cutting & splitting another cord of wood, dragging the camper out from back, preparing the pool to uncover tomorrow , mowing some grass, watching my garden grow ( wish the grass would stop ) and now chilling to some heavy light show.

The weather turned out well today, we will see what tomorrow brings

I don't know in terms of record weather conditions but I don't ever recall having my wood heat going in the house in June before like I have the last 3 days .
This weather sucks IMO . Striper season was a bust and I haven't been fishing since

Supposed to be nice for a few days, and then summer kicks in, high 80's.  Burn off some black flies (but also help hatch a batch of deer flies!)!

Been pounding the trout here in Ct for weeks-high waters have been mostly clear - they are hitting well.
Still using small hooks 4 lb test and small garden worms in thick overgrown little places with a little ultra light spin rig.
Occasionally that old bamboo fly rod too, when in more open areas.

Have n't wet a line in weeks, water levels have been fine but just have n't had the desire to go because my best friend got really sick and I had to put her down May 30th,a very hard thing to do!
Now at least I have my trip to Alaska coming up in July to look forward to and get my mind off the loss of my friend.Hope everything goes smooth on the travel up there

Thanks Charlie and BTDT.Although the Vet told me what we were going to do was best for Mollie as there was no joy, only misery for her,it was really hard but it was peaceful with no pain. But I really miss her as there is no one left here at home, only memories.

There will always come time for friends to leave. Some moving on with happy memories and some not so much but, never forget, there shall forever be a new friendship waiting to be made.

Pafisher, in due time a new friendship shall be born and you can bet, it will be "the one with the waggily tail". 👍

I hear it's very easy to become addicted to Alaskan Malamute puppies.

BTDT,it would be very easy for me to become addicted to any puppy, but I have to resist that as I'm a empty nester and can't be there all the time for feeding.training,playing,etc.Also,I will be moving from my lifetime home area in SE Penna. to NE Ohio to be near my daughter and her family, she has three dogs a couple of cats and my beautiful, smart grand daughter.SO with all that happening soon I have enough on my plate in the near future. But as time goes on who knows what will happen?????

Although I enjoy this cooler weather and the garden is doing great it has not been a good summer on our farm.  Only cut one lot and the others are too wet and some are too thick to cut with our equipment. We are probably going to have to use our reserves this year. Still have not got over 40 hours without a shower.

Still rains at least every other day. Farmers cannot get on their fields. On a side note it seems the lake fishing is doing well this year

Clint we're looking at the same scenario here in my little piece of Penn's Woods. Neighbor had to leave better than acre of cut hay in my field for fear of getting his round baler bogged down. This past week, southern neighbor had to chance soft fields getting 60 acres of wheat that's been brown for so long I wondered if any grain remained, to harvest.

Hay's likely to command a good price in many parts, this year.

We are lucky we have enough for next year as we keep a rotating stock. Our biggest issue is that even if it dried out our equipment is just not big enough to cut it as it is too thick.  That leads us on how to get it out of the field to make the field able to be cut next year.  We may have to see if the guy up the road can do it with his bigger haybine. Time ill tell

That's a good deal Clint and a even better deal, it was you putting in the hay and not me.Lol. Makin hay ain't no picnic in my book especially in August. Glad you didn't have to deal with the "dog days of summer" gettin-r-done.

I knocked down 6 acres of grass just to keep the Goldenrod and Queen Annes Lace from going to seed. But, it's gonna lay there and rot.

As for "silly season", I'm looking forward to the chyts and giggles stories.

Tight lines.
