Float Tube Regulations

Can anybody help me out with finding regs on the PFBC or PADCNR website about regulations for float tubes?

Really hard to find anything concrete about them, so I'm wondering if they're either (1) unregulated or (2) prohibited on PFBC lakes or in State Park lakes.

Looking for info on if it needs to be registered, or if it requires a launch permit for state parks.

Sorry you will have to copy and paste to your search engine. Can't get a auto link to transfer on this "stupid phone"😩

Rsquared try the above link. It is a PDF required download.

You should find a menu. Float tubes can be found in sec. 53.19.

There was a change being requested regarding inflatable boats needing multiple chambers but I don't know if it includes tubes.

Hope this helps. The least it gives, is leads where you can research.

Finally dug around and found the answer for state parks in case anyone else was interested from the "Float Tubing" tab at the bottom of this page http://www.dcnr.state.pa....tion/fishing/index.htm

Float tubes continue to rise in popularity.  Quality float tubes are permitted in State Park waters in lakes and still water away from designated swimming or boat launching areas. A quality float tube has two air bladders made of heavy gauge rubber or PVC material covered by a durable fabric shell of denier nylon, Codora or similar material. Float tubes may only be propelled by non-mechanical, non-motorized devices like oars.  A U.S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation devise (PFD) must be worn at all times.  A state park officer can terminate float tube use if the devise is being used in an unsafe manner or during unsafe conditions.

BTDT, seems that PFBC lakes are the same.  Thanks for taking the time to look.

You can get the permit at the park office. We mostly buy the 2 yr. to save a couple bucks.
