Back in the day I use to fish two or three weekends a month, October - March. Have not wet a line in the tribs for the past three years. I miss it, but sometimes life gets in the way. Crappie fishing locally tides me over these days.

From late 90's-late 2000s every weekend September-March in NY since its only 3 hour drive/Erie is 5 hrs.  Since 2008,  Erie once a month Oct-Freeze up, back after spring thaw, with an occasional NY suicide run thrown in. Then in season for stockies every day..

Once or twice a year now. Seems like the drive got longer, the fish fewer and the fisherman more. Much easier and almost as much fun to fish locally for smaller fish.

Back in the early to mid '90's, it was once every 2-3 weeks. When my work schedule changed in the early '00's, it became once about every six weeks. A few years later it became 1-2 times per year.

When I started to fish the One Fly, that was the only trip for the year. Since the One Fly ended, I have not been back since.

Sure miss that event
