Trolling Help

Comeing up first week of next month. I think I might bring a sixteen foot aluminum V haul boat up. Any advice for trolling for steel at the creek mouths?

Have had zero luck with shoreline Steelhead this fall, last year only got one along the mouths. Probably due to the consistently bad lake conditions in the fall (high winds, large waves, warm water). I'll most likely be waiting until June until I start trolling for Chrome again, until then it's trib Steelhead and nearshore Lake Trout.

Its pretty easy.  Run Orange/Red/Black plugs off planer boards in the top 5' of the water column.  I avoid spoons because they will sink on turns and get snagged. 2 spoons on my riggers though, riggers constantly get adjusted depending on depth.  6-30 FOW in front of creek mouths.

If you don't have planer boards and riggers, you'll probably be able to pull a few just flatlining 2 lines out the back.

We do well every year I use thunder sticks in bright colors and troll them off boards and we flat line a couple in back of boat using kastmasters Stayclose to shore 10 to 20 feet is most productive for us.
