April/May Sandusky

Has anyone been on western Erie around early May? Looking to take the boat out and fish US waters for smallies and walleyes. Any tips or prior experiences would be appreciated. Casting, not trolling. Thanks for any info! Justin

    Justin check out  (Ohio Game Fishing) website, lake Erie reports. There is a lot of posts on fishing the western basin and whats going on.

    Justin I fish down that way a lot in the spring, mostly trolling and jigging for eyes. I don't see many smallie guys at the rampa but I am sure there are some. If you want walleye get hair jigs and blade baits and fish the reefs in mid April.
