Eating in the 'Burgh

I know this is the Erie forum, but it gets the most traffic, so I thought I would ask here.

Heading to Hienz Hall on Saturday night for the PSO does Led Zepplin and was looking for a nice fine dining restaurant close by (walking distance).

Have been to Six Penn and it was okay (the polish on the tables smelled really bad); to Morton's and it was over hyped for what it was; and Ruth's Chris, but we were looking to avoid a chain.

Anyone been to The Carlton or have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Further out Penn, in the Strip District, is Luke Wholey's Wild Alaskan Grille (2106). Bit far for a walk, but if you like seafood, well worth the drive or bus.

Luke used to fish commercially in Alaska, and has hookups for an outstanding variety of fresh seafood.  He's also one of the better musky fishermen in the area, though you won't find those on the menu!

This place is good & fun (if you like fancy meatballs), but not on the fine dining level of the others:  http://www.siennapgh.com/mercato/

Might be a bit of a walk, but The Commoner is outstanding!

IMHO - The Carlton: I work in the BNYM building and occasionally attend their Happy Hour. It is OK, but dinner is over rated
