When it's cold outside, the water gets colder. This is especially true at night.
For what reason are you interested in water temps.
i'm usually more interested in lake temps which you can find by searching great lakes and noaa.

What a strange thing to happen on this board
#Pound as far as I know there is no way to get a reading online, not all the USGS sites have a temp, so for erie you will go in blind. With that said they will get colder as it gets colder, they aren't large rivers and small temperatures changes will definitely affect them, Conneaut in Ohio has one and its is flowing close to walnut so you might be able to get a somewhat good estimate on the temp in walnut and elk.

Dang why did my reply get taken down?
it was the only one the was actually a legitimate answer, too. Not available online. Take a thermometer with you and let us know what the temp was, then it will be online.
