    no paker i did't  i tried everything, large minoe 6-8 in off bottom an nothing! a fello caight  about a 5lb off the peir though. i dont give up easly though. if it take me 20 years to get one then well im happy with that. have you ever fished for them? i gotta be doing sumthing wrong

    well that makes 2 of us then. lol i have saw them an they look like they would be a great fight. i cant c how anyone can get them through the ice like that... but  i heard they r good eats

    I u are looking for info contact "Presque Isle Angler Bait & Tackle
    Andy Daniels". He will give u good info and help u out as to what's going on with the burbot.

    I have never fished for them myself, but If I were going to, he would be the one to ask for help.

    theirs a big artical in the infisherman about the Burbot ! Great artical if you fish for them me i don't check it out.

    for those who are looking for info on burbot.....
    I have a co-worker who fished for them last winter before the ice & he did well. he googled burbot on the internet and found info about them. if i remember right he told me they like sandy bottems and most are caught right before the ice forms. hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    article in post gazette said to fish for these from either the north or south pier at the mouth of the bay.  Is there open water at these postions normally or do these freeze along witht he rest of the bay. thinking about coming up to try for these but am not a walk on froxen water type of person.  phobia about falling through.  thanks for any help

    fruntz...  i have nooooo clue what the bay is like now. i was up  befor all the ice started to set in. and im the same with you. i dont like ice fishing on lage bodies of water.. u just never know when you could hit a soft spot. i would be more then happy to fish with ya. but i dont know when i will be up next pro after the ice thaws.  i dont know how everything works on these boards yet. but here is my e-mail Jeffrotall29@hotmail.com  let me know when u want to head up an try. when i head up next im gona get sum more infoon wat im doing wrong an hopefully catch one lol
