I've been reading all the traffic.  One question.  With all the abnormal warm weather, will there ever be enough cold weather for safe ice this year?

My prediction,  not a chance.

Ice season is over. If you can call that a season.

Global warming is a huge problem, people dont realize it.  Ice fishing in Erie is going to get worse and worse every year.  I know everybody likes weather, but this is ridiculous.  Ice season was ruined, we barely had any good snow to shoot bunnys, it was 50 some degrees during deer season with no snow. I know people hate the winter, but when you build and plan activities for the winter, learn how to achieve at them during winter, and then cant do them cause theres no winter, I think it sucks.

I was at the 1st Freezout! That was one of the coldest days I have spent on the bay. Wind was at least 30 mph and wind chills well below zero. About 20" of ice to boot! I love winter!

I just had my daughter and her family move to PA from northern Minn. about 150 miles from Canada and her children(my 4 grandchildren) have asked me several times when winter is going to come so they can play in the snow. My daughter tells me that the weather she has encountered here since October is comperable to their spring. Unless something really drastic happens I believe ice fishing season is over especially here in southwest PA.

I was just joking....

They're not for sale!  Well, unless you want to pay me twice of what they're worth...  :)

This Saturday afternoon???????????????????????????????????????

My brother finally talked me into hitting the ice.  So, I went out for the first time Sunday, and had a blast.  Ended up meeting up with a few guys who are on here and we had an impromptu mini-Freezeout.  I struggled to even get a bite, but I wasn't the only one.  Eventually we found a spot that had some fish, and then the chrome started hitting.  That was fun!  I closed out the day with a pretty hen that took about 15 minutes to get up and out.  4 sMal bluegill, and one 25" steelhead capped off a great day outside.

Great!  Another hobby.  My wife is thrilled.

Im thinking if we have good ice next week, we can have it March 8th, Saturday.  This is not for sure yet, because weather conditions dont look great for next week, just an idea, who would all be interested?

The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.
